FIU hosts more than a dozen summer camps


 

During the dog days of summer, South Florida kids and teens can stay productive while having fun. FIU professors and coaches will run camps in art, culture, swimming and sports. Check out the programs available in 2010!

Frost Art Museum

Campers will learn arts and crafts as well as receive tours of the museum’s exhibitions and create art inspired by the tours. Lessons will be led by one art teacher and one assistant teacher.

FUNstruction All Sports Camp

FUnstruction teaches kids how to play sports while having fun. Campers will develop sport skills, discipline and confidence.

Player Development Basketball Camp

Campers will have the opportunity to train alongside NBA and college players. The camp is not for entertainment or recreation purposes. The goal is to prepare players for national-caliber travel team tournaments, high school varsity basketball and beyond. Player Development camp is not affiliated with FIU Basketball or Coach Isiah Thomas.

Biscayne Bay Campus Recreation

Summer Academy

Highlights of the FIU Summer Academy include swimming instruction, swimming with the dolphins and field trips to the Miami Museum of Science, Islands of Adventure and Kennedy Space Center, among others.

EcoAcademy

Biscayne Bay Campus Recreation, Vice-Provost Office of Environmental Initiatives and Marine Biology have come together to offer two weeks of hands-on educational programming as well as swimming instruction, kayaking and scuba instruction.
