Class of 2013 moves in

FIU welcomed nearly 3,000 student residents to MMC and BBC this past weekend.

Traveling in crammed cars packed with everything needed to survive the school year, hundreds of students descended on Modesto A. Maidique Campus on Friday, Aug. 21. Anxious to move into FIU’s residence halls, they unloaded microwaves, TVs, bikes, decorations, clothing still on hangers and the essential college food, Ramen noodles.

Braving the humidity, resident assistants, fraternity brothers, sorority sisters and student athletes greeted their fellow Golden Panthers curbside with a ready smile and helping hand.

And with mixed emotions, parents watched their children enter a new phase in their lives.
