Meet the doctor at FIU’s new health practice for faculty and staff

By Sissi Aguila

David R. Brown, M.D., is the primary care provider for the new FIU Health Care Network (HCN), a group practice of the Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine clinical faculty.  With more than 15 years of experience in prevention, screening, family planning, and acute and chronic disease care, he is board certified in family practice.

In September, two highly respected South Florida physicians, Cheryl Holder, M.D., and Jorge Camilo Mora, M.D., will join Brown at the FIU-HNC Practice providing faculty and staff convenient, cost-effective medical care and management of chronic diseases such as hypertension and diabetes.

News@FIU recently caught up with Brown to discuss his love of medicine, services offered on campus and the Overtown Cookbook Project.

The practice is located in the University Health Services Complex (room 154) at Modesto A. Maidique Campus and is open for patient visits on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

While appointments are recommended, walk-ins are accepted. To make an appointment, call 305-348-DOCS (3627).
