FIU Athletics offers free football tickets to youth organizations

MIAMI – Florida International University is inviting thousands of kids to its football games through its Community Partners Kids Club, which gives free tickets to organizations that work with children.

Elementary and middle schools, youth sports leagues, and non-profit organizations are eligible for the program, which allows children and chaperones to attend games such as Saturday’s FIU football matchup against Troy at FIU Stadium.

“This is an opportunity to expose children to the college experience through sports,” said FIU Athletic Director Pete Garcia. “This is part of FIU’s commitment to the community and a way to allow the community to get involved with FIU and support our student athletes and programs.”

Any group interested in obtaining tickets should call Liz Borrell, assistant athletic director for student athlete development and community relations at 305-348-0154 or e-mail borrelll@fiu.edu.

Anyone interested in being a sponsor for the Community Partners Kids Club should call Shawn Thorimbert, associate athletic director for external relations, at 305-348-1764.

All others interested in purchasing tickets for FIU football or other sports, please call 305-FIU-GAME (305-348-4263) or to purchase tickets online visit www.fiusports.com.
