FIU presents ‘The Internal Palestinian Conflict: Implications for the United States and Israel’


WHAT: Resolving the Israeli-Palestinian conflict has become a top priority for President Obama and how the new administration moves forward on this pivotal issue will be the subject of much discussion over the next four years. In an effort to offer insight and understanding of internal Palestinian dynamics and politics – a key component in addressing this foreign policy imperative – the Middle East Society (MES) of the School of International and Public Affairs at Florida International University will present “The Internal Palestinian Conflict: Implications for the United States and Israel,” a lecture by Jonathan Schanzer. The event is co-sponsored by FIU’s Judaic Studies Program, the Jewish Community Relations Council, and FIU’s Student Government Association.

WHO: Jonathan Schanzer is Deputy Executive Director of the Jewish Policy Center, a think-tank in Washington D.C. He is the author of numerous policy articles and has been featured in television outlets such as CNN, Fox News, and al-Jazeera. His most recent book is titled Hamas versus Fatah: The Struggle for Palestine. Signed copies of this book will be available for purchase after the lecture.
