Prepare to Care for your Aging Parents Part II: An expert panel discusses key issues surrounding elder care

WHAT: A panel, made up of some of Miami’s foremost experts in elderly care, will present part II of the series Prepare to Care for Yourself and Your Family.  The free forum will address legal and financial issues related to long term care, such as trusts, long term care insurance, reverse mortgages and living wills. A physician will address end-of-life care issues and a social worker will talk about the benefits of developing a plan of care before crisis strikes.

WHO: The panel will include attorney Gina Martinez Nguyen; Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Medicine at FIU College of Medicine Dr. Mark Multach; and Certified Geriatric Care Manager for United HomeCare Services Marina Bravo. The event is sponsored by United HomeCare Services, in collaboration with the FIU Alumni Association, the FIU President’s Council, the FIU Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine and Northwestern Mutual Financial Services.

WHEN and WHERE: Thursday, October 8 from 6:30-9 p.m. at the FIU MARC Building International Pavilion, located at 11250 SW 8^th Street in Southwest Miami-Dade County. The panel discussion will begin at 7:30 p.m. and is free and open to the public.
