Frost Art Museum presents 7th annual Breakfast in the Park

The Frost Art Museum celebrates Art Basel Miami Beach with the 7^th Annual Breakfast in the Park on Sunday, Dec. 6 at Modesto A. Maidique Campus.

An official Art Basel event, Breakfast in the Park will include an outdoor breakfast, guided tours of Sculpture Park and museum exhibits, and an informal talk by internationally acclaimed artist and designer Michele Oka Doner.

Born in Miami Beach, Oka Doner has built a career that includes public art projects, monumental sculptures, furniture and jewelry. Her artwork is featured in The Frost’s exhibit, “The Missing Peace: Artists Consider the Dalai Lama.”

In celebration of organic forms and fueled by an appreciation of the natural world, particularly ocean life, she integrates the human figure as a subject in her works using bronze, wax, silver, clay, concrete, handmade paper and glass. Her large-scale installations can be seen locally at Miami International Airport and The Wolfsonian-FIU Museum.

The event, scheduled for 9:30 a.m. to noon, is free and open to the public.
