FIU settles lawsuits

MIAMI – Florida International University reached an agreement today to settle two related lawsuits brought by the former Director of FIU Online Mohammad Izadpanah, and the former Associate Director Reynaldo Morejon.

The lawsuits were originally brought in May 2007 and included claims that Izadpanah had been wrongfully terminated from his position by FIU and that both former employees had been defamed in statements made by FIU officials.

The lawsuits were settled without admissions of fault by any party for the sum of $47,500 in each case.
