Alumni Association holds day of service

On Jan. 16, FIU held its second annual Alumni Association National Panther Day of Service. Alumni chapters throughout the country signed up to help. Alumni, students and faculty/staff in Miami; New York City; and Los Angeles planted trees, laid sod and worked at a soup kitchen.

In 1994, Congress designated the third Monday in January the federal Martin Luther King Jr. holiday and a national day of service. Volunteers across the country go out into their community, lend a helping hand and celebrate King’s legacy.
