Book presentation “Can Latin America Compete? Confronting the Challenges of Globalization”


WHAT: In a global economy now characterized by risk intolerance and limited credit, can Latin America compete for its share of resources?  Florida International University’s College of Business Administration and The Penn Club of Miami present Can Latin America Compete? Confronting the Challenges of Globalization” by Associate Dean Jerry Haar and Managing Director of Kroll John Price, who address these concerns in their new book. The book identifies and analyzes ten factors that most influence the competitiveness of Latin American nations and will shape their economic futures.

The event is co-sponsored by the Brazilian-American Chamber of Commerce of Florida, the United States-Mexico Chamber of Commerce Inter-American Chapter, the Miami Finance Forum, and the Florida International Bankers Association.

WHO:  Jerry Haar is an associate dean and professor in the College of Business Administration at Florida International University. He was formerly a senior research associate at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

John Price is managing director of business intelligence at Kroll, the world’s leading risk consultancy. He is an expert in the field of business intelligence in emerging markets.
