FIU Foundation Board of Directors members announced


MIAMI – Florida International University has appointed four community leaders to serve on the FIU Foundation Board.

“Our new Foundation directors bring incredible talent to our board,” said FIU President Mark Rosenberg. “It is through their ingenuity, resourcefulness and dedication to FIU that we will continue to keep this university healthy and on course.”

Founded in 1969, Florida International University Foundation, Inc. (FIU Foundation) was established to encourage, solicit, receive and administer gifts for scientific, educational and charitable purposes for the advancement of FIU and its objectives. The FIU Foundation is governed by a Board of Directors, whose members play a significant role in the development of the university as a major educational, cultural and economic resource. Through the involvement of the directors and their contribution of time, leadership and financial resources, the mission of the university is advanced.

Joining the FIU Foundation Board of Directors are:

Stephen H. Bittel is the chairman and founder of Terranova Corporation, leading a team of professionals in the owning and/or operating of a commercial real estate portfolio valued at nearly $1 billion. He graduated magna cum laude from Bowdoin College in 1978 and obtained his law degree from the University of Miami School of Law in 1982. He founded Petroleum Realty Investment Partners in 1999. A Miami native, Bittel has been a member of the United Jewish Committee Young Leadership Cabinet, the Florida Bar Association, the Mortgage Bankers Association, the Young Presidents Organization (past Chairman of the Miami Chapter, and the Real Estate Round Table); served as Director on the Boards of the Community Partnership for the Homeless, the Miami-Dade Expressway Authority, and the Jackson Memorial Hospital Foundation. He has written numerous articles on real estate matters and spoken at professional conferences throughout the United States and Europe. In 2005, Bittel was awarded the South Florida Business Journal “Ultimate CEO” award.

Robert Chadwick “Chad” Moss, Jr., who earned a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management from Florida International University in 1994, is senior vice president/project executive for Moss and Associates, one of Florida’s largest private construction management companies. Moss’ responsibilities include managing multiple construction projects, preconstruction buyout, scheduling, contract management, billing, public relations, and new project pursuits. His South Florida experience includes construction management of retail shopping centers, office buildings, churches and government construction. Recently, Moss completed five United States Immigration buildings for the General Service Administration, which is the federal agency that provides office space, goods and services to other federal agencies.

Enrique A. “Henry” Ramos is Secure Wrap of Miami’s vice president and founder. Ramos founded the company concept in 1989 with a single domestic operation in Omaha, NE.  In 1994, he joined with Radames Villalon and created Secure Wrap of Miami, Inc. Together they have turned the small local company, originally run out of his home, into one of Miami International Airport’s largest concessions, with more than 150 local employees and more than $8 million in sales in 2009. 

In addition to strategic development, Ramos represents the company in the financial community, governmental agencies, and major customers. He is credited with establishing Secure Wrap as a preferred provider with the U.S Department of Commerce, a critical component of the Secure Wrap business model.

Adalio Sanchez is general manager of the IBM’s System x server unit. In this role, Sanchez is responsible for all facets of IBM’s multibillion dollar x86 server business including product development, marketing, sales, operations, and its overall financial performance. Prior to his current position, Sanchez was general manager of IBM’s semiconductor and engineering services operations, and over his 27 year IBM career he has run several other hardware businesses – including the IBM ThinkPad business.
