In a nutshell: As the senior graphic/Web designer of Campus Life (Student Affairs), my day-to-day job is to increase student awareness of the university through effective marketing and communication strategies that enhance Student Affairs, Campus Life, student groups and FIU’s image as well as present a consistent, unified message. My office is comprised of marketing, new media, photography, Web communications and print publications.

What do you enjoy most about your job?

Being creative, challenging the students and staff that I work with to look past concepts that have already been created and create new ideas and methods.

What do you think students and your fellow faculty/staff should know about your department?

That we are future of FIU media and marketing. “We don’t just color all day, we create your vision.”

Where is your favorite spot on campus? Why?

The Graham Center. That’s where everything happens.

What is one thing you wish everyone knew about FIU?

That we are global.

How are you “Worlds Ahead”?

By creating new concepts that help enrich FIU’s student community.

My wife, Lauren Hubacheck-Butler, is the assistant director event specialist for Career Services.

First paying job: I worked at Winn-Dixie, as a customer service manager, when I was 15 years old.

Favorite TV show: The Office.

What is playing on your iPod?

Kaeno, Paul van Dyk, Indecent-Noise and Denzo.

Your proudest accomplishment:

I am going to be a father in October. My radio show, The Vanishing Point, has more than 1 million subscribers on iTunes. And my first artist album will be available in October as well.

What do you do when you are not working at FIU?

I am a full-time music producer/DJ (trance, progressive, house and techno). I love to cook so I create new recipes. I like photography and watching movies, traveling the world and making people dance to my beat.
