Garrett Wittels: 56 and Counting

It was a sensational year for Garrett Wittels. The FIU infielder finished the 2010 baseball season riding a 56-game hitting streak. Tied with Hall of Famer Joe DiMaggio and two shy of Robin Ventura’s Division I record, Wittels carries the streak into next season chasing history. In the meantime, he’ll play summer baseball in Alaska and debate whether to cut his dark, curly hair, which he started growing for good luck in February.

In a Worlds Ahead mini-documentary, follow Wittels’ journey from the first game against University of Maryland to the team’s Sun Belt Conference Championship to NCAA regional play.
