A memorial service celebrating the life of Honors College student Veronica Allais will be held at MMC on July 6. A scholarship fund has been set up in her memory.
French-born Honors College student Veronica Allais came to FIU last year to complete her bachelor’s degree in international relations after receiving her associate’s at Miami-Dade College.
Here, she was part of the Aesthetics & Values class taught by John Bailly, who remembers “her inquisitive nature and her fierce determination.”
The professor, the Honors College family as well as Allais’ family and peers were shocked when the news came: She had been killed in an automobile accident early on June 18.
A memorial service celebrating the life of Allais will be held on Tuesday, July 6, at 3 p.m. in GC 243 at Modesto A. Maidique Campus.
A scholarship fund has been set up in her memory. For more information, contact Associate Dean Juan Carlos Espinosa at 305-348-4100 or espinosj@fiu.edu.
