Barnes & Noble at FIU unveiled

Members of the FIU administration were on hand for the unveiling of the remodeled bookstore and café on Aug. 11.

And when the rain stopped, it was time to celebrate.

FIU President Mark B. Rosenberg, FIU CFO Kenneth Jessell, Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine Dean Dr. John Rock and Dr. Rosa Jones, vice president of Student Affairs, were among the members of the FIU administration on hand for the unveiling of the remodeled Barnes & Noble at FIU Bookstore & Café.

The renovation, which began in late May, has reconfigured what is easily one of the most popular spaces at Modesto A. Maidique Campus.

Upstairs, the café counter has been expanded to include a wider selection and café seating has grown from 112 to 152 with new chairs, booths and ottomans. There are more power outlets, three flat-screen TV and modern design concepts that add character to the existing café. The outside patio will be covered and ceiling fans are being added.
