FIU offers free football tickets to health care employees

Florida International University is offering health care professionals and their families complimentary tickets courtesy of AvMed Health Plans to Saturday’s home football  game versus Arkansas State.

“On this Thanksgiving weekend, we want to express our gratitude for all that health care professionals do for our community by inviting them and their families to join us for what promises to be an exciting and crucial game,” said FIU President Mark B. Rosenberg.

With a win on Saturday, FIU would clinch the Sun Belt Conference Championship and earn a bowl bid.

FIU will play ASU at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 27 at FIU Stadium, located at the Modesto A. Maidique Campus, 11200 SW 8th St., in West Miami-Dade County. A tailgate with entertainment and games for the whole family begins at 1:30 p.m. Parking is free.

To pick up the free tickets, health care professionals should visit the University Credit Union Box Office located in the R. Kirk Landon Fieldhouse at the west end of the stadium. Tickets will be available starting at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday until the game starts.

A valid health care professional work ID is needed to pick up the tickets. Those eligible for the tickets include employees of hospitals, clinics, insurance companies, pharmaceutical companies and other health care-related organizations.
