FIU keeps momentum on National Signing Day

On the heels of the program’s first-ever Sun Belt Conference Championship, and its first bowl win, FIU football reloaded by adding 25 high-caliber student-athletes on National Signing Day Feb. 2.

The class includes nine offensive players, 13 defensive players and three athletes that can play on either side of the ball.

Nineteen of FIU’s 2011 signees are from the state of Florida, two from Mississippi, and one each from South Carolina, Alabama and Louisiana.

Four of these Panthers are already training with the Panthers. Tevin Blanchard, Jordan Hunt, Richard Leonard and Elijah Maxey are all enrolled at FIU.

The team returns to the field for spring practice March 3. The annual Spring Game will be April 1.
