Tennis to host Panther fundraiser tournament

The women’s tennis team will host a fundraiser tournament Saturday, March 12, at the FIU Tennis Courts.

Registration and warm-ups for the event will begin at 9 a.m. with round-robin doubles play starting at 9:45 a.m. The cost for each participant is $50. All proceeds benefit the FIU women’s tennis program.

“The Panther Fundraiser Tournament is an important event in the continued growth of our program,” Head Coach Melissa Applebaum-Dall’au said. “There has been a tradition of excellence with the FIU tennis program and we look to build on the foundation of success laid by those players and coaches who have come before us. The ADvantage Tennis Club will be an important lifeline towards our program’s success for years to come. It is extremely important to get the community involved with FIU now more than ever and we are excited to have our annual event be the tool to make that happen and make them part of the FIU family.”

Want to back the FIU tennis team? Join the ADvantage Tennis Club, the official support group of FIU tennis. The group’s mission is to grow awareness of FIU tennis in Miami and in surrounding areas. By creating a supportive environment, the ADvantage Tennis Club will directly aid the team in achieving their goal of becoming a Top 20 collegiate tennis program and reaching the Sweet 16 in the NCAA Tournament.

Funds raised will be used for the purpose of building the tennis program and making a better tennis experience, both academically and athletically, for our student-athletes.
