2011 FIU Online Conference


WHAT:  The purpose of the conference is to bring awareness and teach FIU faculty and staff about the most current tools, technologies and best practices in online learning. Faculty will have the opportunity to explore how to effectively use online learning resources and technology to engage students and maintain quality within their online courses.

WHO:  The event is free but is targeted only to FIU faculty and staff, deans and chairs who may be interested in offering their courses fully online. Featured speakers will include:

  • Rita-Marie Conrad, online educator and author
  • Laura McGrath, associate professor, Department of English at Kennesaw State University
  • Roseanna Demaria, Chief Learning Officer and adjunct professor at New York University
  • Noemi Harm, Educational Technology Specialist
  • Patrick Koster, Education Solution Consultant for Adobe Systems
  • Allison Miner, Quality Matters Certified Trainer
  • Brett Frazier, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Blackboard
  • Chris Guzek, Mobile Solutions Specialist for Blackboard
