Fifteen faculty members will be featured in The Miami Herald as part of a new Worlds Ahead advertising series starting Tuesday, May 17.
The 15, full-page ads will run on consecutive days in the A-section of the Herald from May 17-31. The ads were designed by External Relations as part of the university’s Worlds Ahead brand campaign.
Each ad shows a professor, along with a quote. The ads will also have a new feature – a QR code, which is a bar code that can be scanned with any smart phone. When Herald readers scan the QR code in each ad, they will be taken directly to a video interview with the professor.
The ads aim to showcase FIU’s exceptional faculty to the community. Colorful and animated, each ad captures the professor’s unique personality and expertise.
“Our faculty are the ones who help our students Be Worlds Ahead,” said Eduardo Merille, FIU’s marketing director. “We want the community to see just how cool our professors are.”
What a great idea. I’m eager to know about Dr. Cohen’s ad.
Very cool! Go Panthers! #1
Great idea for the use of QR! Would be interested in seeing the actual analytics/results of this campaign. Do QR users tend to read the news online as opposed to the physical paper?
