Lunch and dinner coming up, courtesy of SHTM students

The talented students and faculty of the Chaplin School of Hospitality and Tourism Management, who prep gourmet lunch and dinner experiences for the FIU and North Miami communities, have moved.

Foodies needn’t worry, though – they haven’t gone too far…they’re still at Biscayne Bay Campus.

The Panthers have packed their knives and relocated their operations from the school’s kitchen to the Kovens Conference Center while a new facility is being constructed at the school.

Future hospitality professionals will prepare lunch and dinner throughout the semester and welcome guests who arrive on campus ready to take part in their Advanced Foodservice Management Training sessions.

Beginning Thursday, Sept. 15, these Panthers will manage every aspect of putting on a service, from working in the dining room  to the kitchen. Their skills will be tested as they earn on-the-job experience under the guidance of chef-instructors Michael Moran ’86, MS ’03 and Roger Probst through the end of the semester.

Check out this video the FIU News team produced earlier this year to get an idea of what these talented students will be doing this fall:
