FIU to offer classes during Winter break

During this year’s Winter break, FIU will be piloting a special session of classes at Modesto A. Maidique Campus. The limited number of courses will be offered between Dec. 14 and Jan. 5.

“It’s a proactive approach to help students graduate faster,” said Provost and Executive Vice President Douglas Wartzok. “These are classes that many students need as the final course to graduate. It’s an innovative approach to serve our students and respond to their needs.”

The mini-session is open to currently enrolled, degree-seeking undergraduate students who at the beginning of the Fall semester had a GPA of 2.5 or better.

Students will be allowed to take up to four credits. Those who have not reached the maximum financial aid eligibility for the Fall semester may be eligible to receive aid. Contact the financial aid office for more information.

Registration for the session begins Nov. 1 and runs through Nov. 5. To view your Fall 2011 Mini Session enrollment appointment, log onto your MyFIU account and look under the Enrollment Dates section.
