Global Learning Conference April 12


FIU’s Global Learning for Global Citizenship is hosting a series of free workshops for educators Thursday, April 12, focusing on motivating and inspiring today’s students.

The Global Learning Conference, which is free and open to the public, will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the MARC Pavilion at Modesto A. Maidique Campus.

The day will begin with a workshop from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. about strategies for providing active learning opportunities for students in large classes across the curriculum and co-curriculum; lunch from 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. will include an exploration of the methods and meaning behind intercultural/interdisciplinary discussion inside and outside the classroom; and two hours of “Global Learning Blasts,” 15-minute hands-on demonstrations of global learning strategies that can be implemented across the curriculum and co-curriculum, will follow from 1:15 to 3:15 p.m. The day will conclude with a reception for everyone from 3 to 5 p.m.
