Florida International University officials have assessed all of our campus facilities and, as a result, we are resuming normal university operations on Tuesday, Aug. 28.
In order for students to be able to prepare for classes starting Tuesday morning, the Green Library on MMC and the Math Mastery Lab at MMC, located in GL 263, will open at 1 p.m. today.
Also, the Rec Center at MMC will open at noon today.
At MMC, the Fresh Food Company is open and POD Breezeway will open at noon today.
Please note that academic calendar deadlines have been extended:
·Drop/add deadline is now on Tuesday.
·The last day to pay without late fee is now Wednesday.
·Late payment fee will be effective Thursday.
Systems that support online courses are functioning normally and students can continue to work remotely.
We thank all of the university personnel who worked throughout Tropical Storm Isaac to ensure that our campuses are safe and ready for normal operations.

It’s now 9:50 AM on Saturday and I’m an instructor driving to hold my class. The most recent update was 5:22 yesterday afternoon. More frequent updates would have been very helpful.

Online classes are operating as normal, they are not closed.
We have assignment deadlines for tonight (Sunday night) on our online classes. Will these deadlines be extended?
We have just confirmed that online courses are operating as normal and all assessments/assignments are still expected to be completed on time.
Jacqueline: We have been advised that the university closure does NOT apply to online classes. Assessments/assigments are still due as assigned. Sorry for relaying inaccurate information earlier.

Does the registration deadline mean the same thing as the last day to pay tuition, because I think we can end this vicious cycle with a yes or no. Does a student only taking 3 credit hours qualify for any financial aid? I was told by the FinAid that I would recieve 600 + dollars to help pay for my $788 class. Was that a lie? If so, Why is MyFIU lying to MyFace?

I was seriously misinformed by the financial aid office. I need an answer that anyone who works at this university should know. Do you need to be at least a half-time student to receive financial aid? Please answer this question as soon as possible.
