Activist Gloria Steinem to speak at FIU


Renowned writer, lecturer and activist Gloria Steinem will be hosting a dialogue and community conversation at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 23, in the MARC Pavilion on FIU’s Modesto A. Maidique Campus.

Sponsored by the Women’s Studies Center, “Knowing Our Power: A Talk with Gloria Steinem” will focus on women’s rights issues as related to the 2012 election.

The event is free and open to the public.

A leader in feminist and social justice movements for more than 40 years, Steinem travels worldwide as an advocate for equality.
