FIU experts to discuss Venezuela after Chavez


WHAT: Florida International University’s School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA) and Latin American and Caribbean Center (LACC) will host a panel discussion on “Venezuela after Chavez.” FIU professors will discuss the political, economic, social and other implications of the death of Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez.

WHO: Panelists will include Manuel Gomez, FIU College of Law coordinator of international legal projects and head of the Global Legal Studies Initiative; Barry Levitt, assistant professor and director of undergraduate programs in the Department of Politics and International RelationsAstrid Arraras, senior lecturer and associate director of undergraduate programs in the Department of Politics and International Relations; and José Miguel Cruz, visiting assistant professor in the Department of Politics and International Relations.

Eduardo Gamarra, professor in the Department of Politics and International Relations and former director of  LACC, will moderate the discussion.
