FIU’s Relay for Life raises nearly $90K

More than 70 teams, ranging from student groups to administrative departments, participated in FIU’s 9th annual Relay for Life. The student-run event raised $88,800 to date. Words cannot even begin to explain my emotions right now. Relay for Life 2013 is now over and my time as Logistics Director has come to a close. I donated 18 inches of my hair to an amazing organization called Pantene Beautiful Lengths (This organization gives cancer patients wigs free of cost). And $89,092 has been raised for the American Cancer Society. After sleepless nights and countless amount of hours creating schedules, info sheets for our teams, and the layout of the event, it is now over.
