Two of FIU footballs’s stars now playing in the NFL were back on campus this week for a visit with friends around the university before the fall football season starts. With Senior Associate Athletic Director of Development Lori Ann Cox are safety Johnathan Cyprien of the Jacksonville Jaguars and defensive back Junior Mertile of the NY Giants. In April, Cyprien became the highest draft pick in FIU history when he was selected in the No. 1 spot of the second round. Mertille signed with the Giants in April as a free agent.
T.Y. Hilton
Sports Illustrated was in Miami the last three days working on a story and video on FIU’s all-time leading receiver and Indianapolis Colt T.Y. Hilton. The story is scheduled to appear in the July 29 issue of SI. The video will air on SI.com that same day.
