Georgia Aquarium is first stop on Worlds Ahead Tour

On Nov. 15, FIU is going to the Georgia Aquarium and Miami is coming along for the ride. The trip is part of the Alumni Association’s Worlds Ahead Tour, bringing the irresistible music, mouthwatering food and chic atmosphere of FIU and Miami to alumni living in the area.

The Worlds Ahead reception is expected to be the largest of its kind held outside of Florida. There are more than 3,000 FIU graduates living in the Georgia area. There will be opportunities to network, buy FIU gear, and learn more about the Alumni Association, as well as the Georgia Alumni Chapter.

The reception is also meant to be more than a networking social. The huge growth FIU has been experiencing in the past few years may be evident to alumni who still live in the Miami area, but many alumni living all over the country are still unaware of the changes the university has experienced. Participants will learn about how their Alma mater is Worlds Ahead. Guest speakers include College of Business Dean David Klock and Senior Vice President Howard Lipman.

“We want all of the Panthers around the country to be aware of the impact their Alma mater has been having and to be proud to say they’re FIU graduates,” says Simone Worsdale, assistant director of Communications for the Alumni Association.
