School of Journalism & Mass Communication Dean Emeritus and Professor Lillian Kopenhaver, who established the Center for the Advancement of Women in Communication in 2012, asked one of her former students to speak at a webinar that the Center was hosting.
Kopenhaver was surprised when the student remembered how a class she took with her almost three decades earlier had changed her life and led her on a path to success.

Lillian interviewed me as part of a team in December of 1975 before I joined FIU in March of 1976. We remained friends and colleagues for my thirty years at the University.
