FIU ranked 64th on Forbes’ list of America’s Best Employers

FI forbesFIU has been named one of “America’s Best Employers” by Forbes.

FIU is ranked third among the 19 Florida-based employers recognized, and ninth in the education category. On the overall list of 500 employers, FIU is ranked 64th.

“Forbes recognizes the commitment to learning excellence by our faculty and staff, who understand their responsibility to our students and community,” said FIU President Mark B. Rosenberg.

The 500 private- and public-sector employers on the Forbes list were chosen based on an independent survey by Statista.com of 20,000 American employees working for large U.S. companies and institutions, and U.S. divisions of international firms in 25 industries. Workers were asked to rate on a scale of 1-10 how likely they would be to recommend their employer to job seekers.

“This national recognition demonstrates that FIU values the hard-working men and women who have built the first class university we have today and made it a vital economic engine for our community and beyond,” said FIU Board of Trustees Chairman Albert Maury. “As one of our county’s largest employers, FIU serves as a model of how creating a positive work environment and investing in employees is key to an institution’s success.”
