FIU Athletics offers free football tickets to South Florida youth organizations


fiu-stadium700Florida International University is inviting hundreds of children to its football games through its Community Partners Kids Club program, which gives free tickets to nonprofit organizations.

Now in its 13th year, the Community Partners Kids Club provides eligible not-for-profit groups with complimentary tickets to select home games, one of them being the season opener against North Carolina Central.

The FIU vs. N.C. Central football game will take place at 6 p.m. on Saturday, September 19, 2015, at Ocean Bank Field at FIU Stadium located on the Modesto A. Maidique Campus, 11200 SW 8th St. in West Miami-Dade.

“FIU sees this as a great opportunity to reach out to aspiring Panthers and motivate them to pursue their collegiate dreams,” said FIU executive director of Sports and Entertainment, Pete Garcia. “FIU Athletics strives to inspire and engage with the South Florida community.”

This year FIU will be hosting five home games:

  • Saturday, September 19 v NC Central at 6 p.m.
  • Saturday, October 10 v UTEP at noon
  • Saturday, October 24 v Old Dominion (homecoming) at 6 p.m.
  • Saturday, November 7 v Charlotte at noon
  • Saturday, November 21 v WKU at 2:30 p.m.
