Message from Vice President for Student Affairs

Vice President for Student Affairs Larry W. Lunsford sent the following message to the FIU community:

Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of a student who was found deceased in his room in one of the Modesto A. Maidique Campus residence halls.

At this time there is no evidence of foul play but Miami-Dade Police is conducting a full investigation.

Counselors are available to support students and anyone else impacted by this incident.
