Maria Garcia
In an age of globalization and technology, Maria Garcia focuses on how best to change behavior and activate consumers to be more involved. She offers insights into social media marketing and international marketing trends and shares her expertise with news reports centered on Cyber Monday. Garcia’s experience includes more than 10 years in management in international PR, marketing, and advertising. She holds a Ph.D. in journalism from the University of Missouri, Columbia, and a Master of Science in mass communication from FIU. Garcia is available for Spanish-language interviews.

Retail Sales
Gregory Maloney
Greg Maloney specializes in retail and marketing strategy as well as shopper marketing, brand management, consumer insights, and analytics. Maloney offers detailed insight into the beverage and alcoholic beverage industry. Before joining FIU in 2013, he spent 13 years at Bacardi, where he served as senior client server developer, business data and reporting director and lastly associate vice president, business analytics. Earlier in his career, Maloney worked at Motorola Solutions America Latina y Caribe.

Anthony Miyazaki
Anthony Miyazaki is the chair of the Department of Marketing. He specializes in marketing and consumption of high-risk products and activities, pricing management and consumer price perceptions as well as online consumer privacy.  Miyazaki’s research on topics such as pricing, online consumer privacy, and state-sponsored lotteries have been published in the Journal of Marketing, Journal of Consumer Research, Journal of Retailing, and others. Before joining FIU in 2003, Miyazaki was an assistant professor at the University of Miami and earlier held director of marketing positions at Rust Instrumentation & Controls and at Guardian State Bank.

Rafael Soltero
A sales industry veteran, Rafael Soltero offers in-depth insights into the extensive high-tech business-to-business product marketing, sales management, consumer marketing, and the entire product lifecycle. He is a visiting instructor for Sales and Sales Management at the College of Business. Soltero has helped international retailers rapidly create and implement strategy across sales teams, distributor networks, and at the corporate level. He previously held sales and marketing positions at Athentech Imaging, Noritsu Koki Co., and Eastman Kodak. Soltero is available for Spanish-language interviews.

Nancy Rauseo
Specializing in sales training Nancy Rauseo has extensive experience in delivering customer-focused solutions to companies in various industries. She has held several senior management positions with insurance companies in the areas of sales, sales management, marketing, operations, information technology development, and client relationship management. Rauseo joined the Marketing Department  in 2002, where she developed and taught the first online courses for marketing management, international marketing, export marketing, customer relationship management and personal selling. Kimberly Taylor
Kimberly Taylor specializes in negotiations; consumer choice and decision making; marketing yourself/career preparation; advertising; pedagogy; and cause-related marketing. Her research has been published in Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Making, Journal of Advertising Research, Journal of the Academy of Marketing Sciences, Marketing Letters, Journal of Services Marketing, Journal of Marketing Education, Psychology & Marketing, and other publications. Before joining FIU in 1994, she spent five years as instructor and course director for introduction to decision sciences course at The Wharton School.

Cybersecurity
Kemal Akkaya
Kemal Akkaya leads the Advanced Wireless and Security Lab. His current research interests include security and privacy, and protocol design. He has published over 120 papers in peer reviewed journal and conferences, and is the area editor of Elsevier Ad Hoc Network Journal. He received “Top Cited” article award from Elsevier in 2010. He is an associate professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, and a senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).

Alexander Perez-Pons
Alexander Perez-Pons specializes in cybersecurity with a focus on digital forensics, malware and reverse engineering for virtualized systems, machine learning, memory scraping and disk carving. He has published numerous transaction articles in multiple journals on subjects including real-time system, security, biometrics and semantic link associations. As a consultant, he has worked in the private, public and government sectors and advised in areas such as Business Intelligence, Mobile Technologies and Network Security. He’s been with the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering since 2013.

Selcuk Uluagac
Selcuk Uluagac is an expert on security and privacy topics in cyberspace. He is currently working on building novel cyber tools and algorithms to protect the Internet of Things (IoT) (e.g., smart devices, smart watches, smart home appliances, vehicles) and cyber infrastructure (e.g., smart-grid, smart city) against hackers. He is a recipient of the 2015 U.S. National Science Foundation CAREER, 2015 US Air Force Summer Faculty Fellowship, and 2007 Georgia Tech Outstanding Teaching Assistant Awards. Currently, he serves on the editorial boards of Elsevier Journal of Network and Computer Applications and the IEEE Communications and Surveys and Tutorials.
