FIU invites South Florida youth organizations to home football games

This fall, FIU is inviting hundreds of South Florida children to its home football games.

FIU Athletics’ Community Partner Kids Club program offers free game tickets to South Florida organizations that work with children. This season, the first 200 kids who attend through the program will also receive a free FIU pencil pack with pencils, pens, a pencil sharpener and a ruler.

This is the 15th year that Community Partners Kids Club provides eligible not-for-profit groups with complimentary tickets. In that time, more than 25,000 tickets have been given to youth organizations.

The first home game is FIU vs. University of North Carolina at Charlotte and it will take place at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 30, 2017 at FIU’s Riccardo Silva Stadium, 11200 SW 8th St. in West Miami-Dade.

“There is a lot of excitement around the program this season,” said FIU Director of Sports and Entertainment Pete Garcia. “This is the beginning of the Butch Davis era and he is building something really special, making it an extraordinary opportunity to engage our aspiring Panthers.”

Interested groups and organizations should contact Assistant Athletic Director Liz Augustin at 305-348-0154 or laugusti@fiu.edu for an admission form.
