Journalism students from the School of Communication + Journalism will gain invaluable real-world experience March 24 as they cover the March for Our Lives events live from Washington, D.C., and South Florida.
Six journalism students and two journalism professors will ride on the D.C.-bound buses with students and family members from Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. Additional SCJ students will cover local events related to the march. All of their updates can be found at sfns.online.

The 2nd Amendment says nothing about the personal ownership of guns and is a relic of slavery. The NRA has spent 40-years maligning the public’s perception of the Amendment. There has always been some form of gun control in the cities and states of the United States. The issue is how to craft rational gun control to reduce gun violence. The massacre at PULSE nightclub in 2016 suggests that the LGBTQ community could lead the way in this discussion.
