July 2018 in photos: Summer Commencement, Arctic research and Roary in a hammock

Summers are for making memories. At FIU, we’ve had no shortage of memorable moments that Panthers will cherish forever – graduating, field research and fun in the sun. Here are just a few of our favorite moments from July, as captured by FIU photographers Doug Garland, Carl Frederick-Francois, Tim Long and Eduardo Merille.

Tre King was recognized by Present Mark. B. Rosenberg as a Worlds Ahead graduate Sunday. King received his master’s in social work – overcoming the challenges of growing up in a violent North Miami neighborhood, never knowing his father and never knowing his mother sober.
