Love beer and love learning? Aside from presenting some of the best beers made by South Florida breweries, the 2019 North Miami BrewFest will also be serving up seminars on the science behind brewing.

BrewFest is a one-day festival showcasing one-of-a-kind brews from South Florida’s top breweries. The tasting event will host several educational seminars delivered by university faculty and top industry experts sharing their brewing science expertise. Brewing specialists and newbie brewers alike are invited to the sip-and-learn seminars.

These are the seminars that you can look forward to:

  1. Exploring The Local Craft Beer Scene: Founder of SFLHops, Stuart Skopit, shares ideas on how to discover and connect with the local craft and home-brew scene year round. This seminar will be hosted from 3:15 p.m. to 3:45 p.m. in the Seminar Room, connected to the MOCA Museum.
  2. Off the Flavor Course: Hosted by two Cicerone certified members of Pink Boots Society (PBS), attendees will learn to Identify the six most common off flavors in beer through a hands on tasting class. This seminar will be hosted from 4 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. in the Seminar Room.

This seminar will be hosted from 5 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. in the Seminar Room.

Patrons are encouraged to explore the pairing potential between beers and bites by trying the event's gourmet dishes with complementary brews.
