July in photos: Flying, Raving and Graduating

Some people think university campuses are quiet over the summer. Not at FIU. This month, students raved while giant speakers pumped at FIU's annual electronic music show, SummerFest. Meanwhile, cries of joy echoed in the arena as students celebrated commencement. Here are some of our favorite moments from July, as captured by FIU photographers Margi Rentis and Doug Garland.

For one Panther couple, this summer’s Green School commencement ceremony will forever be a special part of their story. Criminal justice major Christopher Ubeda got down on one knee and presented a ring to now-fiancée Jacqueline Mendoza right after she received her diploma and shook hands with President Mark B.
