FIU is one of the top 100 public universities in the country, according to the latest U.S. News & World Report rankings. The international business program came in at No. 2 in the nation for the second consecutive year. This is the highest-ranked program of any university in Florida.

FIU was ranked No. 95 among public universities in the U.S. News & World Report 2021 National University Rankings released Monday.

“These rankings are a testament to FIU’s dedication to student-centered learning and upward economic mobility,” said FIU President Mark B. Rosenberg. “As a public institution, we are dedicated to producing research and innovation that transforms the community, the nation and the world.

In U.S. News & World Report specialty rankings, FIU placed:

  • No. 13 among public institutions in Social Mobility
  • No. 32 among public institutions in Best Value.
The U. S. News rankings come on the heels of FIU’s placement as the No. 18 national public university and No. 3 “Bang for the Buck” public university in the Southeast in Washington Monthly Magazine. FIU also ranked No. 58 among U.S. public universities in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings released earlier this month.

“FIU’s focus on improving student success has resulted in a rapid rise in reputation and rankings. This year we moved up 10 or more spots in three prestigious rankings including US News and World Report.” said FIU Provost and Executive Vice President Kenneth G. Furton.

U.S. News & World Report publishes an annual set of rankings, which has been used by parents and students to select schools, since 1983.
