Dear members of the university community,

As part of the university’s efforts to minimize risk and efficiently bring our students, faculty, and staff back to campus, FIU will launch the Panthers Protecting Panthers (FIU P3) app on Monday, Aug, 17.

The FIU P3 app, a web-based Apple and Android app, is a key part of our Panthers Protecting Panthers initiative to help slow the spread of COVID-19 in our FIU community.

The FIU P3 app contains a questionnaire that screens for COVID-19 symptoms, following Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines. The app will not determine whether a user has contracted COVID-19. Instead, depending on the answers to the questions, the app will either give the user permission to come on campus or recommend they stay home, monitor symptoms or seek medical attention based on Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines. FIU’s COVID-19 response team will be available to assist with any issues.

All students, faculty and staff are required to complete the safety screening questionnaire within the FIU P3 app each time before they come to campus. On-campus residents will be required to complete the questionnaire every morning.

Any information submitted is confidential and only accessible by key groups managing the campus repopulation process.

To access FIU P3

The app can be downloaded prior to Monday, Aug.17, but full sign-in capabilities will only be available on Aug. 17. If you do not have access to a smartphone or cannot download the FIU P3 app, you can complete the screening questionnaire online.

In addition to the app, we encourage our university community to follow additional Panthers Protecting Panthers protocols, which include wearing face coverings while on campus, practicing physical distancing and washing hands or using hand sanitizer often. Visit FIU’s coronavirus website for additional details.

Please email FIUP3Support@fiu.edu for more information and for help using the app.

Stay safe, Panthers.
