The swimming and diving team made history on Saturday night as the Panthers captured their sixth-straight Conference USA crown. The result came in after the league's three-day championship meet in Georgia.

"I think from the first day, we were at the top. I was so happy to be a part of that," said sophomore diver Maha Gouda.

With the championship, the Panthers break the C-USA record for most consecutive titles won. The previous record was five-straight held by FIU and Southern Methodist University. The six-straight conference titles also rank as the most in a row by any athletic program in FIU history.

FIU finished the meet 155 points ahead of second-place Rice as the Panthers racked up a score of 1044.5 for the C-USA Championships. The 1044.5 points for the Panthers also broke the record for most points scored by any team at the C-USA Championships.

Randy Horner was named C-USA Swimming Coach of the Year following the win, while Nick Yang was honored as the C-USA Diving Coach of the Year. Stephanie Hussey earned C-USA Co-Swimmer of the Meet and Mandy Song was named the C-USA Diver of the Meet.
