Dear FIU faculty and staff,

In just one month, get ready to Pave Your Path during FIU Homecoming Week 2020! While Homecoming will look very different this year, we look forward to a week full of virtual concerts, activities, caravans and other exciting events that will make us really feel our Panther pride.

The fun kicks off Sunday, Oct. 4, and runs through Saturday, Oct. 10.

With your help, Homecoming 2020 will be one we’ll never forget. Some highlights include:

Panthers Got Talent

Panthers Got Talent, FIU’s annual talent show that brings together students, alumni, faculty and staff to showcase their talents, will take place on Wednesday, October 7 from 7-9 p.m. in the gravel lot next to PG5. The in-person event will be similar to a drive-in theater, where attendees can watch performances from the comfort of their own car or assigned section for those without a vehicle. The event will be streamed online for those unable to attend. Faculty/staff registration is still open.

Roary’s Amazing Race

Roary’s Amazing Race, taking place on Thursday, October 8 from 3-6 p.m., will lead small groups around campus to specified locations where they will complete an activity and get stamped to proceed to the next destination. Registration is now open.

 The Roar Report

Make sure to tune in to The Roar Report on Saturday, October 10 from 2–3 p.m. Segments will include homecoming traditions such as our Trail of the Torch and our Faculty/Staff King & Queen Crowning. We will also have other exciting segments including exclusive interviews with notable alumni and, of course, our annual fireworks show. All events will be streamed at hc.fiu.edu.

Homecoming Caravan

The Homecoming Caravan will take place at our annual Homecoming Parade on Saturday, October 10 at 3:30 p.m. We invite students, faculty, alumni, employees, retirees and the community to deck out their cars in Panther pride and drive around campus to celebrate another successful Homecoming week. Cars that reflect the most Panther spirit will be entered into a social media competition. The winner will be announced in FIU’s Instagram account after the event. Make sure to register to participate in the Homecoming Caravan by Wednesday, Oct. 7.

Homecoming Game
In the first home-game of our 2020 season, your FIU Panthers will be taking on the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders on Saturday, October 10 at 7 p.m. While details on in-person attendance are still being finalized, you will be able to catch the game on ESPN 3 or ESPN+.

There’s so much more happening at our FIU during Homecoming! For a full list of events and ticketing information, please visit hc.fiu.edu.

You’re the most important part of making this year’s Homecoming the most memorable yet – despite a pandemic. Take part in all your favorite activities, give back and support our FIU.

Stay healthy, stay safe. Go Panthers!

Sincerely,

Mark B. Rosenberg
