Two former FIU football players were selected in the 2020 NFL Draft last weekend. After the draft, multiple Panthers were signed to teams as free agents.
Quarterback James Morgan was selected in the fourth round by the New York Jets, making him earliest-drafted quarterback in university history. Defensive back Stantley Thomas-Oliver III was drafted to the Carolina Panthers in the seventh round. FIU had as many players drafted as FSU, UCF and USF combined.
With the conclusion of the draft, teams began signing players who had not been selected in the process. So far, four former Panthers have found homes as undrafted free agents: Anthony Jones (Seattle Seahawks), Teair Tart (Tennessee Titans), Isaiah Brown (Buffalo Bills) and Napoleon Maxwell (Chicago Bears).
