South Florida's premier craft beer and food festival, the North Miami BrewFest, is back.
Beer and food lovers in South Florida will get to taste one-of-a-kind brews by their favorite craft breweries and culinary creations from local restaurants now that tickets are on sale for this FIU-produced event, scheduled for Nov.13.
The four to five-hour, outdoor festival will take place at the North Miami Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) Plaza on NE 125th Street in the City of North Miami with all health and safety protocols in place. The city is the festival's Title Partner and has been for the last five years.
After a year's hiatus, Chaplin School of Hospitality & Tourism Management professors, staff and students are already working on the event's big return. BrewFest started at the hospitality school as a student-led project on the Biscayne Bay Campus in 2012 with proceeds going back to the school's brewing science program.
"Our mission continues to be to contribute to brewing science education and innovation in the craft brew industry, brewpubs and homebrew organizations," said Christina Jardim of FIU's Office of Auxiliary and Enterprise Development. "Learn. Brew. Taste. That's what it's all about," she added.
From pale ales to porters, people who attend will get to taste it all for the price of their ticket. The festival is known for its relaxed crowds, amazing food, educational seminars, and most of all, it's selection of beers. Highlights include:
- Original craft creations from dozens of brewers
- Student-created suds from potential beer industry leaders of the future
- Complimentary gourmet food pairings
- Educational beer and brew science seminars delivered by top industry experts
- Music, entertainment and fun
