President Rosenberg: 'You are not alone during these difficult times'

Dear FIU family,

At FIU, we are committed to fostering a culture of belonging. Your well-being is a priority. Affirming the human dignity of every member of our community is a core value at our university.

With the verdict in the Derek Chauvin case expected this afternoon, we want to acknowledge the heightened level of anxiety and anticipation, particularly given the recent mass killings and other senseless acts of violence in our country. You are not alone during these difficult times. We understand the importance of a supportive environment, particularly now, and are making a number of resources available to support our FIU community in the days and weeks to come.

If you need emotional support, if you would like to join in a discussion about the trial, or if you are seeking ways to help students process this consequential moment, please avail yourself of our university’s resources.
