SIPA professor discusses digital self-harm on Academic Minute

On Tuesday, April 6, 2021,  Academic Minute ran a segment featuring Ryan Meldrum, associate professor in the department of criminology and criminal justice in the Steven J. Green School of International and Public Affairs.

Meldrum discussed his research on digital self-harm. Digital self-harm is when an individual anonymously posts mean or hurtful comments about themselves online. Meldrum was lead author of a study that found that approximately 10 percent of Florida middle and high school students report having engaged in digital self-harm.
