12 FIU programs ranked in the top 50 among public universities in the U.S. by QS World University Rankings

The Chaplin School of Hospitality & Tourism Management ranked top 10

Twelve FIU programs were ranked in the top 50 in their category among public universities in the U.S., according to the 2022 QS World University Rankings.
 
FIU’s top 50 public ranked programs included:
  • Hospitality & Leisure Management: FIU ranked No. 8
  • Architecture: FIU ranked 16 – 22
  • Business & Management Studies: FIU ranked 19 – 25
  • Accounting and Finance: FIU ranked 27 – 32
  • Social Sciences & Management: FIU ranked No. 33
  • Electrical and Electronic Engineering: FIU ranked 38 – 43
  • Mechanical Engineering: FIU ranked 39 – 48
  • Engineering and Technology: FIU ranked No. 40
  • Computer Science and Information Systems: FIU ranked No. 41 – 44
  • Agriculture & Forestry: FIU ranked No. 42 – 45
  • Psychology: FIU ranked No. 42 – 50
  • Medicine: FIU ranked 49 – 50
“FIU’s programs continue to be recognized for their innovative curricula that challenges our students and prepares them to thrive in their professional capacity,” said Elizabeth Béjar, FIU interim provost, executive vice president and chief operating officer. “Our focus on student-centered learning, upward mobility and excellence as a research university have made an impact in our students’ lives.”
 
On the global stage, hospitality and tourism management was ranked No. 33 in the world.

“We have gone through great lengths to ensure that our future hospitality leaders are learning innovative methods and using new, high-tech teaching tools to address the ongoing changes in the hospitality and tourism industry and making a real impact in the world,” said Michael Cheng, dean of the Chaplin School of Hospitality & Tourism Management. “These elite rankings show that the industry is acknowledging our leadership in this area, and we couldn’t be more honored and thankful for this recognition.”
 
The QS World University Rankings is an annual publication of university rankings which comprises the global overall and subject rankings (which name the world’s top universities for the study of 51 different subjects and five composite faculty areas), alongside independent regional tables (such as Asia, Latin America, Emerging Europe and Central Asia and the Arab Region). The QS World University Rankings are the most-widely read university rankings in the world.
