All you need to know for Homecoming game tomorrow

The fun is not over yet! Homecoming Week culminates tomorrow Saturday, Oct. 8, with the Homecoming game. The Panthers will play the University of Connecticut Huskies at 7 p.m.

Below is all you need to know for the big day.

Schedule

1:00 p.m.  Tailgate Areas Open 

4:30 p.m.  Alumni’s ROAR Lounge Opens

4:45 p.m.  Panther Walk (FIU band and fans welcome football team) 

6:00 p.m.  Gates Open 

7:05 p.m.  Kick Off

Halftime   Crowning of Homecoming King & Queen

Parking

  • There will be free game-day parking in Lots 4, 5, PG1 – Gold Garage and PG2 – Blue Garage.
  • Preferred parking is available in Lot 7 on game day for $30.
  • Parking for Panther Club members will be in Lot 7 and in the grassy area south of Lot 7.
  • Parking in the South VIP lot will be allowed only for those with a valid parking pass for the area as well as those with disabilities. 

 

Tailgating

  • Game day packages, which include a 10 x 10 tent, table and four chairs can be reserved.
  • General tailgating will take place in Lots 4, 5, as well as in the grassy area in front of PG1 – Gold Garage and PG2 – Blue Garage and in the grassy area in Tamiami Park west of the VIP Lot.
  • Student tailgating will be in our Tamiami Promenade.
  • Tailgating for Panther Club members will be in Lot 7 and in the grassy area south of Lot 7.
  • The Alumni Association’s ROAR Lounge will take place in Parkview Hall beginning at 4:30 p.m. Purchase tickets today.

Clear Bag Policy

Please note a clear bag policy has been implemented at FIU Stadium. Ticket holders are allowed to carry one clear bag, such as a one-gallon clear plastic storage bag no larger than 12” x 6” x 12”, as well as a small purse about the size of a hand. An equipment bag necessary for medical items is allowed. Diapers and wipes can be carried in a clear bag for age-appropriate children accompanied by an adult. Prohibited bags include, but are not limited to, large purses, coolers, briefcases, backpacks, fanny packs, mesh bags, or any bag larger than the permissible size.

Transportation

  • Continuous transportation will be available from 109 Towers, Identity Miami, and 4th Street Commons to WPAC from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
  • Use Freebee on-demand door-to-door transportation to get to the game (within the service area). Hours of operation will be from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. For a free ride, simply download the “Ride Freebee” app from the Apple App store or the Google Play store, request a ride and jump onboard!   • Shuttle service will be provided from BBC AC1 Bus Stop departing at 3:45 p.m. to MMC Lot 3 and will depart MMC Lot 3 30 minutes after the conclusion of the game.

Miami Broward Carnival

The Miami Broward Carnival will take place on Saturday, Oct. 8 and Sunday, Oct .9, at the Miami-Dade County Fairgrounds. We anticipate additional traffic throughout the surrounding area between 6 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Saturday and 9 a.m. to midnight on Sunday.
