FIU Day in Tallahassee takes place on Wednesday

Panthers everywhere can help promote the university – here’s how

February 15, 2022 at 1:00pm

Wednesday is FIU Day at the Capitol in Tallahassee, the perfect chance to showcase Panther Pride. This annual tradition brings together students, alumni, trustees and other advocates to celebrate the many achievements of FIU and the university’s extensive contributions to the state of Florida. Panthers will be in the capital advocating for FIU’s 2022 legislative priorities and thanking members of the legislature and executive branch for their continued support of FIU.

Nine FIU alumni currently serve in the Florida’s legislative and executive branches. They and others have ensured FIU’s expansion as a world-class university.

FIU Day is an ideal opportunity to tout the university, and all Panthers have a chance to help get the word out. Here are ways you can create buzz about FIU wherever you are:

  • Follow FIU on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook and share our #FIUDay content.
  • Join us in encouraging state legislators to champion FIU’s priorities and thank them for recognizing FIU’s accomplishments in student success and research excellence.
  • Share this now on social media: Happy #FIUDay! Thank you to our elected leaders for championing higher education and @FIU! @DadeDelegation
  • Tag your fellow Panthers and encourage them to showcase their Panther Pride for #FIUDay.
  • Don’t forget to use the #FIUDay hashtag when sharing your Panther Pride.
  • Follow @FIUgov on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook for more #FIUDay updates.

The 2022 legislative session convened on January 11 and is scheduled to adjourn on March 11.
